I outlined some of my strategies in my Planning For Me Made May post and have made a few of the items on my list which make me feel great about this challenge. I still want to make another pair of jeggings and perhaps this weekend that will happen!
I’m signed up for a knitting class next weekend and although I doubt I’ll be ready to make anything substantial before May, perhaps a cute scarf is in my near future. I’m also taking a class on the Alder shirt dress over the last three weeks of the month, I have the perfect fabric and if it comes out as great as I suspect it will, I have big plans for it on May 3rd.
I have a few items I’ve been meaning to finish so I’m going to try and wrap those up as well and add them into my everyday rotation in the next few weeks. I’m not going to lie though, its been a tough few months. I sewed this morning for about 15 minutes mending a hat but other than that it’s been weeks. Between work, my recent Disney trip, training for my half marathon and wrapping up my Master’s degree, I’ve been a little frazzled! I may have even over-mended the hat just because I didn’t want to leave my sewing table.
Speaking of finishing up my Master’s degree, the speaker for graduation still hasn’t been announced and since the ceremony is on a Monday I’m only going to take the day off if it’s someone good (Debbie Allen from Grey’s Anatomy and Jay Leno are past speakers from the last few years that I would have taken the day off for!). I should start working on a special graduation dress so I’m prepared… Add it to the list!
I hope everyone has a great weekend and happy sewing to my fellow super heroes!
