I have a new found respect for those who have taught the sewing classes I have taken. I recently took on the role of teacher to my mom and it was an adventure! I’m mostly kidding, it was more of a fun afternoon than an adventure.
Did you know that Sureau is French for Elderberry? Which is a part of the Elderflower which is what St.Germain liquor is made of. Naturally I had thoughts of drinking a classic St.Germain cocktail while I was working on this dress but I had to keep my head clear.

I’m a sucker for a Wizard of Oz quote, even when it must be butchered to suit my needs (by the way, Pavot is French for Poppy). After all of the stalled starts (read about them here) because I couldn’t find a fabric to use and all of the sizing adjustments I needed to make, I honestly had low expectations for this jacket. Perhaps my added measures due to nervousness were what made it come out so good!
